SITTING STILL, a documentary film on art, architecture, and urban design as seen through the eyes of renowned landscape architect and ASLA Fellow, Laurie Olin, and featuring the voices of design luminaries, Walter Hood, Billie Tsien and Frank Gehry.
The film examines the key social issues which have defined Olin's 50+ years in the profession: vast urbanization, our lost connection to nature, economic marginalization, and the grave importance of humanity in design. It is not a show-and-tell of projects, but rather an eye-opening discussion of the marks we make upon the land and why they matter.
